    Description

Here is a rare lobby card set for the Allied Artists release of Claude Mulot's "first sex/horror film ever made" The Blood Rose (1970). A surprisingly elegant if exploitative retelling of George Franju's lyrical Eyes Without a Face (1959), Mulot manages to incorporate tastefully done nudity into the predictable tale of a mad surgeon's lover sequestered away in a gothic castle after being burnt in a crime of passion, while a series of beautiful women mysteriously disappear.
Lobby card set features border art of the shocking poster art and hints at the film's erotic tendencies.
