see, if ever, specific details on function. I studied this set closely. I'm original owner, which means I'm old, lol. Complete with excellent looking and running cars and repro instructions. No box. O
verall great shape. Cars run smooth and quiet. I recommend
oil to keep that way : ) All pieces are included and in excellent shape. One broken flag pole is shown, easy fix, but I will include a original replacement. I added different controllers because I liked the feel and function of the ones present. The originals were less comfortable to use. I will include the original set that can be easily rewired and barley noticeable. You may want to use longer wire for more room to run. The original wires were short.
If you know or know someone, who can solder then it won't take much to get this running great!
The track wires underneath on one panel were touched up and re-soldered to improve performance. I did notice in one spot the connection underneath is loose, so that will need a touch up to get power to that track. The steel rails were cleaned but may need a fresh wipe down. Very little rust which is common on these. But pretty easy to sand off even if there is rust. A manufacturers flaw in the design means there are some rails that pop out of grooves, good news, it doesn't effect the cars running, but if you choose to, you can glue into place with care. NOW there is great news and bad news. Great news, I did use this set and when working, cars run great, fast, smooth, stay on both tracks all around!! Bad news is, it takes a lot of tinkering and patience to run as is. It needs a permanent fix up. On the two wired panels, some rail tabs are split (a manufacture flaw) and that's where the electric gets interrupted so cars stop. They need to be soldered back but that's tricky due to tight spot but if you're careful and know what you're doing it will correct this issue. To add to the great news, once that is done
and loose spot re-soldered you
will have great running track . However,
I am selling set as NOT working due to this.
I got it to work as is, by placing steel across the gap in groove to work but this is not ideal in the long run and takes patience. Lights function as designed. Transformer works. Cars run. Track needs work as indicated.
Due to age and nature of item, I can not guarantee more issues won't pop up once shipped. So no garauntees. Sold As is. No
returns.
