Innovative fingertip expansion makes installing the Saf-T-Brace quick and easy, providing positive attachment to existing ceiling joists between 16 and 24 inches wide. The brace's teeth easily twist and lock into the ceiling joists to create a secure connection.
Arriving with all necessary mounting hardware and instructions to get the job done right the first time, the Saf-T-Brace also features a Saf-T-Cap to protect the bolts and wires during painting and drywall installation.
UL-Listed Brace Supports All Models of Ceiling Fans
Featuring a heavy-duty, all-metal 1-1/2-inch-deep electrical box with 15.5-cubic inch wiring capacity, six 1/2-inch Romex or conduit knockouts, and Romex connector, the brace works with any model of ceiling fan. The box has dual mounting capabilities, threaded for 8-32 screws (ideal for box covers and light weight fixtures) and 10-24 screws (ideal for heavier fixtures and fans).
The Saf-T-Brace is UL listed for fixture support up to 150 pounds on 16-inch centers, and up to 50 pounds on 24-inch centers. Acceptable for fan support up to 70 pounds. The Westinghouse Saf-T-Brace meets or exceeds UL standards regarding exposed threads within the box, and it meets or exceeds NEC safety codes.
